Hey! This is just a quick lesson covering a very popular effect on the internet (utilized through jquery) known as the “slide” function. All we do is attach an ID to the trigger, and an ID to the Div element which contains the content. A few basic rules, and jquery takes care of the rest! Hope this is useful :)

    Hey, Thanks again for the quick reply.

    Just what I needed, now I know where to look at…

    I’ll sure watch out more of your vids.

    Take care, kats.

    Absolutely man, you nailed it. All CSS!

    I can’t go into great detail on here, but Google key terms such as “CSS Positioning Tutorials” or “CSS Absolute/Relative Positioning”.

    I placed the Div for the slide-down on my site above all the content, and set the CSS properties to absolute position(positioning which is fixed to the parent document, in my case, the very beginning).

    Hey man,

    First, thank you for the great quick tip tutorial, very nicely done!

    I saw something interresting at the far end when you show a previous website you made with the sliding login form.

    How did you manage to keep your body page to not slide down when you toggle the login div?

    I guess this is a CSS thing, and I would be glad that you explain :)

    Thanks, kats

    Oh, that’s what I was wondering, I had know idea youtube notified a viewer that their comment had been replied too. I just replied directly back to the commenter:(

    So to correctly answer your question, it is for future viewers, as well as the person who asked the question of course. Users are notified by Youtube when somebody replied to their comment.

    Tutorial Clarity, when you reply to a persons comment…. how should I word this, okay, the “reply” option beneath your video, does the person your replying to even know that you replied to them! Do you understand what I’m saying? When I reply to a person I send a personal message directly to them. Just a question, I saw you were replying to (salman1sa) and the question entered my mind, do we want to draw that person back in to view our vids or is this just for future viewers?

  9. NativeiTube says:

    @TutorialClarity
    I just figured we would like salman1sa to come back and watch more of your great videos!

  10. TutorialClarity says:

    @salman1sa also, try clicking the arrow next to those tabs. (The cornered arrow in the bottom right).

    That should expand that actual video size

  11. TutorialClarity says:

    @salman1sa

    You’re supposed to view it in 720p, then the font size is identical to what you would normally read.

    Just click the tab on the bottom right-hand side of the player that says “360p” and change it to “720p”.

    You’ll be able to read it then :)
